First edition of "the last Transhumance"  photography Book

VALUED AT $150 - START BID $100

Picture

“The Last Transhumance” describes in photography the extinction of a millennial way of life. It is a project about shepherds who still practice transhumance, who walk with their animals in order to find food. They sleep together with their animals all the time, either summer or winter, near the herd, in order to protect it against wolves and bears attacks. For some years I followed families of shepherds from Italy, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Wales and Romania.

You may read and see the film trailer and more about this project on

Four month winter CSA from Red H Farm in Sebastopol

VALUED AT $600.00 STRT BID  $650
(We always  try to support our farmers while garnering support for  Transhumance)

Picture

Red H Farm is grounded in the agroecological ethics of growing soil, conserving water, fostering
biodiversity, cultivating community and building equity. At Red H Farm we believe that food is
medicine for the body and soul.
We are introducing this new CSA model because the impacts of climate change from
smoke-filled skies to summer heat waves have necessitated a shift in our seasonal work
patterns and the crops we grow. This includes shifting our focus to long season storage crops
for the colder months. The winter CSA runs from November through February and consists of a
once-a-month pickup of a hefty box of storage crops along with an array of fresh produce and
herbs.
You can expect to find onions, garlic, shallots, potatoes and winter squash each month. There
will also be a mix of fresh crops like leeks, celery, greens, beets, cabbages, carrots, radishes,
baby mustards, and lettuce, weather permitting. Sometimes there may be produce from other
farms in our close community.  We are spending the summer months growing and drying a
variety of herbs and tea crops, as well as specialty peppers, dry beans, and popcorn. We want
to support you in eating a diversity of foods all winter to keep you healthy and nourished!

Farmers Caiti and Reyna will add you to their email list so you get all the details

Pick up required in Sebastopol
